Privacy Policy

The Important Things operates https://importantthingsguide.com and provides downloadable family organization resources. For privacy questions or requests, email help@importantthingsguide.com.

Information you provide

When you request the free checklist, we collect your email address and any optional email-update choice you submit through Fluent Forms. Form submissions are stored in our WordPress database and may include technical submission information such as the submission date, source page, IP address, browser, and device information. We use the email address to send the requested resource and respond to related requests.

If you contact support, we receive your email address, message, and any attachments you choose to send. Please do not send completed worksheets, passwords, payment card details, account numbers, private legal documents, or family medical information.

Purchases and payments

Easy Digital Downloads manages orders, customer records, receipts, and download access. Purchase records may include your name, email address, billing information supplied at checkout, purchased products, order and payment status, transaction references, and download activity. We use these records to fulfill orders, provide support, maintain business records, and investigate errors or misuse.

Stripe processes payment information through its payment fields. Card details are submitted to Stripe rather than entered into our general website forms. Stripe may collect device and transaction information and use cookies for payment processing, fraud prevention, and services such as Link. See Stripe’s Privacy Policy for its practices.

Email delivery and optional updates

FluentSMTP sends website email through our IONOS SMTP service. Email logs are enabled and are currently configured for automatic deletion after 14 days. Logged messages can contain recipients, subjects, message contents, delivery information, and errors.

The checklist form offers an optional email-updates choice. Requesting the checklist does not require opting into marketing. We retain the preference with the form submission. The form’s automated FluentCRM integration is currently disabled; FluentCRM remains installed for managing email contacts. If we send optional marketing updates, you may unsubscribe using the message instructions or contact us. Order, download, and support messages are separate from optional marketing.

Cookies and technical information

WordPress and Easy Digital Downloads use cookies and related browser storage for functions such as sign-in, cart and checkout sessions. Stripe scripts also load on website pages and may use cookies and similar technology for its payment and security services. You can manage cookies in your browser, but blocking them may affect checkout or other features.

Our hosting and email providers process technical information needed to operate their services, which may include IP addresses and service logs. We do not currently have a dedicated analytics plugin configured. If we introduce analytics or advertising tools, we will update this notice to describe the relevant practices.

Service providers and disclosures

Information is processed by the providers needed to host and operate the website, deliver email, process payments, and support purchases, including IONOS and Stripe. WordPress, Fluent Forms, FluentSMTP, FluentCRM, and Easy Digital Downloads are the software used for the functions described above; their presence does not mean every submission is sent to each software vendor.

We may disclose information when required by law, to address fraud or security concerns, or to protect legal rights. Providers may process information outside your state or country under their own service arrangements and privacy notices.

Retention

Email delivery logs currently expire after 14 days. Form entries, support correspondence, customer and order records, and consent preferences are retained for the purposes described in this notice, including fulfilling requests, providing support, maintaining required business records, and resolving disputes. These records are not all governed by the email-log deletion setting. Deletion or anonymization requests are reviewed against applicable obligations; retained backups and provider records may follow separate schedules.

Your choices and requests

You may contact help@importantthingsguide.com to ask about your information or request access, correction, or deletion. Depending on applicable law, additional rights may be available. We may need to verify your identity and may retain information where permitted or required by law. You can choose not to submit optional information and can stop optional marketing communications without cancelling transactional support messages.

Your completed organizer

The purchased resources are downloadable PDFs intended to be saved and completed on your own device or on paper. The website does not provide a feature for uploading completed organizer worksheets. Keep your working files secure and share them only with the people you choose.

Changes to this notice

We may update this notice when our practices change. The current version will be available on this page. Contact help@importantthingsguide.com with questions.
